Your Guide To Leveling Up Your Spiritual Mastery
Gamify Your Spiritual Practice in 6 Simple Steps!
Enhanced Motivation and Consistency
Gamification transforms routine practices into engaging activities. By setting clear goals, earning rewards, and facing challenges, you’ll find it easier to stay motivated and consistent. The element of play can make your spiritual practices feel fresh and exciting, encouraging you to stick with them over the long term.
Increased Personal Growth and Reflection
Gamification encourages you to set personal goals and track your progress. This structure not only enables growth but also invites deeper reflection on your journey. Facing “boss battles” and earning rewards for your efforts helps you recognize and celebrate your achievements, giving you a sense of accomplishment and greater self-awareness.
Greater Enjoyment and Creativity
Incorporating gamification adds a layer of creativity and enjoyment to your spiritual practices. By drawing inspiration from stories, games, and themes you love, you make the process more personalized and fun. This creative approach can spark new insights, increase problem solving skills and make your spiritual journey more meaningful and enjoyable.
Everything You Need To Gamify Your Spiritual Practice
Discover innovative tools, inspiring stories, and practical strategies to make your spiritual practices more engaging and meaningful.
1. Start a Journal
Set up a digital or paper journal specifically for recording your gamification notes. You can keep it simple or go to town on creatively dressing up your journal.
Your journal can be divided into four sections:
1. For recording general notes and brainstorming.
2. Listing your categories and the objectives for each category.
3. Detailing your points system, including level ups.
4. A list of rewards assigned to points or level ups earned.
2. Set Spiritual Objectives
While my focus is on gamifying your spiritual practice you can use this information to gamify any or all area of life. It is important for you decide how you would like to do this and if your focus is on the spiritual, then what counts as spiritual is down to you.
I recommend brainstorming everything you might want to include in your gamification plan at some point. Then fine tune the list by focusing on what is important to you right now or focusing on a particular project. Keep it simple, overwhelm is never a helpful state to be in.
3. Create Categories
You may find it helpful to create categories or headings to list different objectives under.
For example: Eat a cleaner diet might be under the heading ‘Body’, Meditate under the heading ‘Mind’, Balance my chakras the heading ‘Energy’, find my spiritual tribe ‘Social’ or ‘Connect’, Inner child healing ‘Emotions’.
Choose categories that are simple and fit most of your objectives. Don’t worry if some objectives could apply to more than one heading, just pick one. It’s a game, have fun with it.
4. Create a Points System
To get started quickly, choose a points system that is simple to manage. As we will be starting with dice as our main gaming strategy, a simple points system would be 1 point for each dice roll, times the number of minutes spent on that activity. So if you roll the dice once and do a five minute activity that would be 5 points.
Have a place in your journal to record and tally up your points as you go.
5. Create a Rewards System
Here’s the really fun bit! Brainstorm some potential rewards. Remember that intrinsic rewards are those that give us an internal experience of satisfaction and fulfilment. This can come from the activity itself or can include further activities that create an internal sense of fulfilment. Extrinsic rewards include anything that is provided by an outside source, such as purchasing a prize, giving yourself a fun level up title etc. I have provided some ideas below.
6. Create Level Ups
Level ups are basically milestone achievements and several concepts could be applied. You could receive a level up after a certain number of dice rolls, or points have been achieved. You can set specific challenges that once completed give you a level up.
Level ups provide a way of seeing your progress clearly and milestones can be rewarded with bigger prizes whether intrinsic or extrinsic.
Challenges and Rewards to help Gamify Your Spiritual Practice.
All the examples you’ll find to gamify your spiritual practice are designed to help you create your own. It is important that the challenges and rewards suit you as an individual and keep you motivated. Use these examples to get started, but I highly recommend creating your own.
Below are element-based challenges and rewards. 1. Air focuses on the mind; 2. Fire focuses on joy and creativity; 3. Water focuses on emotions and intuition, and 4. Earth on physical healing and grounding. You’ll find intrinsic rewards connected to the odd number dice and extrinsic rewards connected to the even number dice.

Would You Prefer A Call Back?
If you would prefer to communicate via phone, I'm more than happy to do so. I provide a call-back system to avoid playing phone tag. Sometimes, I need to switch off my phone, such as when I'm meditating or working with clients, so this is the easiest way to speak with me.
